Vectorworks, Inc., a Nemetschek subsidiary and the top
provider of design and BIM software worldwide, has announced the newest Vectorworks
2023 product line, which includes Vectorworks Architect, Vectorworks Landmark,
Vectorworks Spotlight, Vectorworks Fundamentals, and new 2023 versions of
ConnectCAD, Braceworks, and Vision.
A significant portion of the forthcoming CAD/BIM programme
Vectorworks 2023 is dedicated to process automation. Due to the new Revit
import capabilities, a number of improvements for BIM workflows and greater
interoperability will also be added to the Windows and Mac OSX programmes.
Users of Vectorworks may look forward to these important
improvements as well as many more in the near future thanks to the
comprehensive array of new tools and feature advancements contained in the 2023
product range.
The Vectorworks product suite will get new features and
improvements in the forthcoming edition. Dr. Biplab Sarkar, CEO of Vectorworks,
said the following regarding the release:
“For Vectorworks
2023, we’ve spent our efforts focused on refining our software so that
designers don’t feel bogged down by the technology but instead identify
efficiencies that let them focus on inventive and creative designs,” the
company stated.
· Improved Interoperability
Vectorworks is still the best option for teamwork, and
Vectorworks 2023 will bring new methods to collaborate. More freedom is
available when working with consultants and clients using the software thanks
to new Revit file import capabilities. It will be simpler to create a project
within the context of existing information and reference a Revit file directly
for a more collaborative workflow thanks to Vectorworks' improved structure of
the imported file data and support for more Revit object types. When using BIM
Collaboration Format (BCF) files, users will have a better, quicker, and more
accurate BIM collaboration experience. The BCF Manager can now be kept open as
a web palette to manage and model changes with cloud-based collaboration tools
in an effective and seamless manner.
· Good BIM for Architecture
The BIM workflows for architects will see significant upgrades with Vectorworks 2023. Core architectural items have been updated and re-engineered to be more intuitive throughout all project phases, requiring less manual labour to produce and maintain daily documentation. It has traditionally been a time-consuming, labor-intensive, and error-prone process for designers to create object types and draw essential legends. For users of Vectorworks, the new Graphic Legends tool will help to address both of these issues. The intelligent programme totally eliminates the need for manual creation of graphic legends by automatically allocating resources, allowing for simple editing and customization, and guaranteeing the precision of legends and drawing keys for documentation.
Additionally, there are new ways to import Revit files, giving users more flexibility and control when collaborating with consultants and other users of the Revit platform. More Revit object types can now be translated by Vectorworks, and users can now directly reference Revit files for a more collaborative workflow.
· Enhanced User Experience for Designers
A designer's initial experience with Vectorworks 2023 is
highlighted by routine performance improvements that get you started, speed up
activities, and are less disruptive. For all users of the product, the new Home
Screen offers a central location for getting started, learning, training, and
other chances for advancement. With the help of a new Offset Edge tool, you can
offset edges and push/pull faces from both planar and non-planar surfaces for
quicker modelling and effective design exploration. A powerful and realistic
working rendering mode has also been added to the Shaded Render Mode to support
an unlimited number of light sources, environmental lighting and reflections,
and object reflections. This update will help designers make better-informed
design decisions and ensure higher-quality rendering.

wherever your imagination takes you.
Version 2023 will also bring significant workflow
improvements to ConnectCAD, including a faster and more accurate way to create
cable riser diagrams and reports with an easy new command, intuitive file
organization with an updated class structure, and the ability to specify device
locations for more automated equipment lists.
