SYNCHRO 4D Construction Simulation Driving Everton Stadium Build

Laing O’Rourke Using SYNCHRO 4D for Everton Stadium Build. Check out how SYNCHRO 4D is being used by Laing O'Rourke to simulate and visualize construction sequencing for the new Everton Football Club stadium!

Laing O'Rourke is simulating the construction of the new Everton Football Club stadium in Bramley-Moore Dock, Vauxhall, Liverpool, using the 4D construction programme Synchro 4D.

The 52,888-seat arena has been under construction for more than a year and is scheduled to open in time for the 2024–25 Premier League season, taking Goodison Park's place.

Increasing Mainstream Construction Capabilities with SYNCHRO 4D

Laing O'Rourke used intricate electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural models to create a master federated 3D model. This includes wiring, plumbing, light switches, and plug connections in addition to steelwork assemblies, prefabricated concrete walls, and enormous roof trusses.

The next step is to generate a 4D model with model components connected to Synchro's construction programme activities. The Laing O'Rourke team is able to see the building sequence and evaluate any potential hazards or conflicts in the schedule, as well as opportunities that might not have been visible using more conventional techniques.

Craig Wallace, a digital engineer with Laing O'Rourke, adds, "It was first developed virtually on a computer in a simulated environment, and it is now literally being built on site. The significant advantage is that we can sort out problems in advance, in a virtual setting, before work starts on-site.

"That encourages efficiency improvements, risk reduction, programme and cost benefits, and offers assurance throughout the build's lifespan.

The Everton Stadium model incorporates components like mobile cranes, storage areas, engineering controls, walking routes, and more in addition to mimicking the order of the construction.
