Sheet Metal and Structures Highlights 2023- New Features for SOLIDWORKS

The robust new features developed to assist you in increasing productivity by working more quickly, more intelligently, and in tandem with market-leading product development tools. By integrating your design processes with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you can access effective solutions for the entire product development lifecycle, including data management, collaboration, sophisticated simulation, manufacturing, and production. This will improve your 3D CAD capabilities. Let’s take a look at how you can enhance your CAD Skills with SOLIDWORKS 2023 – Sheet Metal and Structures.

Sheet Metal and Structures 2023

New improvements to SOLIDWORKS Structure Systems and Sheet Metal in 2023 allow for more efficient design-to-manufacturing processes and quicken time-consuming activities. By using a single command, Structure Systems can now find all identical corners in your structure and apply the same trimming criterion to them all. To save even more time in your production, connection pieces like gussets or base plates can also be designed to have comparable corners. The creation of sheet metal parts for production has never been simpler thanks to recent improvements that will appeal to all shop floor personnel. Identical uphill and downward bends are now easier than ever thanks to the ability to thicken sketched base flange portions symmetrically around the sketch. There is also a completely new set of sheet metal sensors that will dynamically inform you if the bounding box for the flat pattern deviates from predetermined boundaries.

Structure Systems

  • Included is the option to use a single command to apply the same trimming criterion to all of your structure's related corners.
  • To save even more time in your production, connection pieces like gussets or base plates can also be designed to have comparable corners.
  • You can alter the weldment profile for a specific group of members and store the changes to a special configuration by using the configuration-specific size of weldment members.
  • When using Zoom to Selection, you can rapidly apply corner treatments by zooming in on a particular corner.
  • You can use Pattern Connection Elements in Structure Systems to pattern a connection element, such as a gusset, to all similar corners.

Sheet Metal

  • With new improvements, sheet metal fabrication is now simpler than ever for shop floor employees.
  • Identical uphill and downward bends are now easier than ever thanks to the ability to thicken sketched base flange portions symmetrically around the sketch.
  • There is also a completely new set of sheet metal sensors that will dynamically inform you if the bounding box for the flat pattern deviates from predetermined boundaries.
  • To add sheet metal gauge value to the Cut List Properties in a drawing, use gauge values in the cut list properties.
  • Apply corner treatments fast by grouping comparable corners in Structure Systems using the group similar corners command.
